Detail Description

In what has become a regular tradition, the global Songs of Hope performance company of youth from countries worldwide is returning to Chatfield for a new concert at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, July 18, in the newly refurbished Potter Auditorium. The award-winning Songs of Hope concert showcases the talents of 90 young artists ranging in age from 10 to 20 drawn to Minnesota from countries all across the globe, including countries as far away as Vietnam, China, Poland, Italy, France, Turkey, Israel, Jamaica, Guatemala, and Argentina.

The annual Songs of Hope project has a well-deserved reputation for lively, upbeat shows enjoyed by audiences of all ages, and the 2017 version of the show promises to be even bigger and better than ever. With close to 90 performers on stage from a dozen countries, the concert will serve up a delightful mix of global music from places large and small, with a special medley of moving songs focused on the desires of people everywhere to live freely (in all the many ways they define freedom). Mixed with the global music will be a wide variety of U.S. songs chosen to be perfect entertainment on a warm summer’s night: Broadway hits, traditional folk, jazz, blues, rock ‘n roll, and much more.

More than a choir, Songs of Hope dazzles audiences with an array of rich cultural dress from countries across the globe, energetic movement by the performers, music by a talented band, imaginative sets, and much more.

This concert will be free and open to the public. The event is co-sponsored by the Chatfield Booster Club.
