Detail Description

My Town My Music Presents: SOLID GOLD with Apollo Cobra & Rat City Enterprises at Kathy's Pub (2nd Floor) in Rochester, MN Ticket: $17 Advance / $20 Door Doors: 7:30PM | Show: 8pm Age: 21+ Made possible by the Rochester Downtown Alliance. SOLID GOLD Electro-glam rock band Solid Gold frontmen Zach Coulter, Matt Locher and Adam Hurlburt have been playing together for more than eight years. Getting their start in Madison, WI after two of the members met in an architecture class, their debut album Bodies of Water gained international attention for its layered and complicated sound. After a four year hiatus, the band released their long-anticipated second record, Eat Your Young, in 2012. Apollo Cobra Apollo Cobra brings synthesizers, bass, keyboards, guitar, vocals, drums and more! Apollo Cobra's live show is an array of dance, rock, funk and soul. They've managed to fuse electronic music with a live band unlike anyone else and they did it all without a laptop! Motherland was released to glowing reviews and also landing in the Top 20 CMJ RPM charts for 8 weeks. With 100s of shows under their belt, Apollo Cobra has proven they are currently one of the best original dance bands to come out of the Midwest and their live show is full of amazing energy. Rat City Enterprises Rochester's Own "Corporate-Folk" rockers get the show started! RCE draws its influences from many other bands with a conceptual focus, including Kraftwerk, Talking Heads and Radiohead. Like those bands, Rat City Enterprises wishes to continue within the framework of the pop song and album format while subverting it with experimental techniques. Their sound models itself as an atmospheric day in the life of an RCE employee that still manages to be catchy, creating earworms through the repetition of mantra-like business clichés and aphorisms.
